Dermal fillers assist in providing volume, shape, or definition to the skin tissue.
By looking at the face as a whole, and discussing your individual needs, we can work to subtly enhance your natural features - restoring confidence rather than changing your appearance

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that are injected into the dermis to aid or restore volume, shape, or contour. The product contains hyaluronic acid (naturally occurring in the body), which is hydrophilic - meaning it attracts fluid and water at cellular level.
In the product we use ( Revanesse®), hyaluronic acid is also cross-linked with BDDE ( 1,4 - butanediol diglyidyl ether), which helps join the hyaluronic molecules together to create a gel network.
This combination helps provide structure for longevity of the product. Purification of the product we use ( Revanesse®), removes unreacted BDDE, leaving only trace amounts.
As with any injectable treatment, they may be some discomfort. A topical ( on the skin) numbing agent will be applied prior to the procedure, to help reduce discomfort. I can also guide you through breathing techniques to aid your comfort.
Dermal fillers will usually last for 12- 18 months depending on the product, and the area of injection - ie cheek and nasolabial fillers can last up to 18 months, and lips can last up to 12 months - longevity is all depending on your individual metabolism and lifestyle
I will usually recommend a 2 week review to examine the effect of the filler for the individual
A list of contraindications to this treatment will be discussed with your practitioner prior to appointment. These will also be discussed during consultation along with a medical questionnaire.
As with all injectable treatments, dermal fillers may cause mild side effects which are normal following injection ( swelling and possible bruising), resulting in a potential downtime for recovery, BUT, we must also discuss more serious side effects of dermal fillers, which will require immediate action.
MILD SIDE EFFECTS - these are common side effects from dermal filler injections
MORE CONCERNING SIDE EFFECTS - these are rare, but have been known to occur in aesthetic practice
Dermal fillers also have a higher risk of other complications than other procedures, which must not be ignored:
These treatments may cause mild erythema (redness) which will calm within a few hours. There will also be swelling locally at the injection site, which is normal as the product is hydrophilic (attracting water to itself, which assists the filling effect). There may also be bruising localised to injection sites, this, too, is normal. To assist healing I advise:
